PRACTICE MEETING
We invite you to the meeting regarding the presentation of the organization procedure for the professional practice of Chemistry Institute students for the 2025–2026 academic year.
The meeting on the professional practice procedure for students of the Pharmaceutical Chemistry programme will take place on May 6 2025, at 13:00 remotely (MS TEAMS link).
PRACTICE PERIOD
The professional practice is carried out during the 3rd semester from 2025-09-02 until 2025-10-26 (2 months, 40 hours per week).
The lectures will start on October 27, 2025.
PRACTICE ORGANIZATION
- Students may independently search for an organization that would accept them for a professional practice (it is also possible to complete the practice within Vilnius University (VU) departments).
- After logging into the practice system, students can either participate in the general selection process for positions announced by employers or register a selected organization themselves.
- The work performed during the practice must be related to the knowledge and practical skills acquired during the studies.
- The practice of the student must be supervised by two practice supervisors: a supervisor at the host organization (an appointed employee) and a supervisor at the University (a lecturer assigned to the department/program).
REGISTRATION IN THE PRACTICE SYSTEM AND SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS
After finding a host organization for the practice:
- The student, together with the practice supervisors at the host organization and the university, formulates the practice objective and expected outcomes.
- The student registers the practice in the practice system by June 30, 2025.
- The student fills in the student practical training agreement (or submits a request to conduct the practice at a VU department) in the practice system by July 18, 2025.
- After the practice coordinator checks the documents, the signing process is initiated. The student practical training agreement (or the request to conduct the practice at a VU department) must be signed by August 22, 2025.
Instructions for registration in the practice system and filling out the student practical training agreement (in preparation).
Signing of the documents:
Practice at a company/institution |
Practice at a VU department |
A tripartite student practical training agreement is concluded and signed using a qualified electronic signature* (e.g., SMART-ID or Mobile Signature). The student fills out the agreement in the practice system. The practice coordinator uploads the agreement to the document management system "Avilys" and sends the electronic signing link by email to the student, the head of the host organization, and the Dean of CHGF. * If the student or the head of the practice company / institution does not have the opportunity to sign the practice agreement with an electronic qualified signature, the agreement can be concluded by signing it in the written form in 3 (three) counterparts, of which each shall have the same legal effects, one counterpart for each party or by exchanging signed and scanned copies of the agreement in PDF format using the following e-mail addresses. |
When a student completes a practice within a VU department, a student practical training agreement is not concluded; instead, the practice is formalized by an order issued by the head of the sending department (see point 38 of the VU Internship Regulations). In the practice system, the student must complete: - a request to conduct the practice at VU - a confidentiality agreement The student must sign and send both documents by email in PDF format (each document must be in a separate PDF file). The practice coordinator forwards the documents for signing by all VU staff members specified in the request via the "Avilys" document management system. The request is registered, and an order from the CHGF Dean is prepared. |

ASSESSMENT OF PRACTICE
To complete the internship, the following steps must be taken:
1. Submit the prepared practice report (in PDF format) to the practice supervisor at the University by email (by November 10, 2025).
- If there are any questions regarding the preparation of the report, the student should contact the practice supervisor at the University.
2. The practice supervisor at the host organization must complete the student's practice evaluation form.
- The student must inform the host organization's practice supervisor that at the end of the practice an electronic evaluation form will be sent to them by email. The data from the completed form will be automatically saved in the database, so there is no need to print it (Practice Evaluation Form for the Supervisor in English).
- All students must have completed the registration form in the practice system and correctly indicated the email address of the host organization’s practice supervisor, to which the evaluation form will be sent.
- The host organization’s practice supervisor must complete the evaluation form by the end of the internship.
3. The student must complete a feedback form about the host organization.
- Students must fill in the feedback form about the host organization by logging into the practice system at the end of the internship.
4. Present the practice report at the department.
- A committee will be formed to assess the students’ practice reports and presentations.
- Assessment for undergraduate students in Chemistry and Nanomaterials Chemistry programs, and graduate students in the Pharmaceutical Chemistry program, will take place from November 24 to 28, 2025. Students must prepare 5–7 minute presentations.
ERASMUS+ PRACTICE
VU students have the opportunity to complete internships at companies anywhere in the world. During the internship period, students may choose to go abroad and gain professional experience there.
Steps for an Erasmus+ Practice
If you are completing an Erasmus+ practice abroad:
- You do not need to register the Erasmus+ practice in the internship system. Instead of signing a student practical training agreement, you will conclude an Erasmus+ practice agreement ("Learning Agreement for Traineeship").
- At the end of the practice, the student must provide the host organization's practice supervisor with the Student Internship Evaluation Form. The completed and signed form must be sent by email .
- At the end of the practice, the student must also complete feedback about the host organization and send it by email to .
- After returning from the Erasmus+ internship, a copy of the "After the Mobility" document must be sent by email and submitted to the International Relations Office.
