Scientific research work is carried out during the 1st and 2nd semesters of the master's study program of  Pharmaceutical Chemistry and the 1st–3rd semesters of the master's program of Nanochemistry and Entrepreneurship.

Students must prepare the report of the scientific research work and upload it in PDF format to the Vilnius University Study Information System (VUSIS) during the period for examinations and final assessments (in the autumn semester 2–26 January; in the spring semester 1–30 June). It is recommended that the report be uploaded one week before the end of the examination period. The scope and content of the report are coordinated with the thesis supervisor.

The supervisor must evaluate the report as "pass" or "non-pass" by the end of the examination period (in the autumn semester until 26 January; in the spring semester until 30 June). Presentations with PowerPoint slides take place at the Department meeting.

The report of the scientific research work, which results are non-public, should consist of a title page and a one-page summary, which does not include confidential information of the work.

In the VUSIS (is.vu.lt -> Thesis -> Thesis Submission (EDT)), the report is submitted in three steps: the description, submission and verification of the written paper. Only after confirming the warranty that the written report has been prepared in good faith and independently, the supervisor can enter the assessment.
