
The Lithuanian Academy of Sciences Division of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, Division of Technical Sciences, the Visoriai Information Technology Park and the association INFOBALT are organizing the 13th LAS Young Scientists' Conference "Interdisciplinary Research in Physical Sciences and Technology".
The aim of the Young Scientists' Conference is to share the research carried out by young scientists in the fields of natural sciences and technology and their intersections, to foster collaboration between young scientists, and to review issues of common scientific interest.
Suitable topics for the conference include physical, biophysical, chemical, biochemical, materials science, mathematics, astronomy or space research. Also, topics related to national defence, quantum technologies, electronics, computer science, mechanics, energy, civil engineering research.
The conference will be organized in two thematic sections: physical sciences and technological sciences. Speakers are invited to present the results of their scientific research and development activities enabling the development and updating of the nomenclature of products/services, the improvement of technologies and their production and deployment in domestic and foreign markets, and studies on the impact of digitisation and digital technologies on economic and social activities.

Participants
Young researchers (undergraduates, postgraduates, residents, PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, postdoctoral trainees with research experience, and business and innovation professionals) up to the age of 35 (not including maternity/paternity leave) are welcome to apply.
Important dates
We invite young researchers from various Lithuanian institutions to apply for participation in the conference by 28 March 2025 by filling in the registration form.
The conference programme will be announced on 2 April.
The conference will take place on 11 April.
Guidelines for presentations
The conference will consist of oral presentations (12 minutes, including 10 minutes for presentation and 2 minutes for questions and answers) and poster presentations.
A computer, projector and screen will be provided for the oral presentations.
It is recommended to prepare the poster presentation on a vertical A1 sheet.
Scholarship
The scholarship is founded by the IT company NOVIAN. This scholarship will be awarded to the best 2024 young scientists whose works are of exceptional scientific level in the field of information and communication technologies and are widely applicable in research or other subject areas. Scholarship fund - 5,000 euros. Scholarship holders will be additionally evaluated by the commission assembled by NOVIAN in accordance with the regulations of the NOVIAN nominal scholarship competition.
The Visoriai Information Technology Park (VITP) will establish named VITP scholarships (scholarship fund - EUR 3 000) for the authors of the best recognized research papers - young scientists who participate in the annual young scientists' conference "Interdisciplinary Research in Physical Sciences and Technology" organized by the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences. The scholarship is established to support the application of relevant research results in the fields of space and defense by young scientists-researchers, to promote closer cooperation between the Lithuanian scientific and business communities through contacts and exchange of information on ongoing research and market needs.
