Electronic resources
During the time of quarantine we advise you to use the electronic resources of Vilnius university (https://biblioteka.vu.lt/en/) – you can access it by connecting to the Vilnius university VPN network (find the instructions here: http://bit.ly/2UdBjCr).
VU Library subscribes to 92 databases which contain 513,340 titles of electronic documents; among them there are:
- 33,695 titles of e-journals
- 435,321 titles of e-books

Many publishers of science and studies resources and suppliers of databases open a part of their databases collections free of charge for the quarantine period. This information is being constantly updated on the library’s website. During this period, the library also expands the list of tested databases. The entire list of tested databases is available here. If you have any questions regarding electronic resources, please contact your subject librarian.

It is a flexible and fast service – users can borrow items for the period from 1 day to 4 weeks or get unlimited access to resources. You can perform a search in the entire database in here.
If you have any questions, please contact us at (queries will be responded to on working days from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.).
Erasmus+
Students returning from abroad or from the ERASMUS+ programme need to quarantine themselves not in dormitories, but in a closed personal space without shared areas. They should continue studies remotely based on these recommendations.
PARTICIPATION IN VIDEO LECTURES REMOTELY
We would like to inform you that Vilnius University currently uses and recommends two major study information and teaching delivery platforms – Virtual Learning Environment (“Moodle”) and “Microsoft Teams” software:
Vilnius University Virtual Learning Environment (“Moodle”) – an electronic platform, where each subject (module) lecturer can remotely share and organize a variety of study (e.g. learning, student paper submission and assessment, student reports, student self-study, etc.) activities. You can access the Vilnius University Virtual Learning Environment with the data provided to you by the Vilnius University Identity management system.
“Microsoft Teams” is a collaborative application that helps a large group of people work and communicate together in one platform. By organizing the remote learning process, this software is effective in organizing live lecture broadcasts and communicating with the subject (module) students, which are participating remotely in the broadcast.
Vilnius University Information Technology Services Center have prepared methodological material (in Lithuanian & English) for students on how to join teacher-made subject (module) teams and participate in video lectures remotely (Pages 7-12).
If you have questions about working on the Microsoft Teams platform, you can ask them on the dedicated “Microsoft Teams” channel. You can join it in the following ways:
by entering the command code – h7l0cnf;
by joining this team link;
by joing this channel link.
Please follow all the information, related to study process organisation and its implementation on the electronic and virtual platforms, on University platforms (especially the University-provided email box and the Virtual Learning Environment), where the lecturers will separately inform you about the organisation of remote lectures and studies activities.
We would also like to inform you that last Friday University authorities informed lecturers about the further organization of studies on these remote learning platforms and how to use them successfully in organizing the remote learning process. For more detailed and specific links in organizing subject (module) distance activities on electronic study platforms, please contact the subject (module) lecturer.
